Help us win the Public Gold Award at the Henry van de Velde Awards

Last week, Cocom won the Henry van de Velde Award for digital product 2023. And we're still in the running for more... But we need your vote!

The Henry van de Velde Awards need little introduction, as they are the most prestigious design awards in Belgium. We are grateful for this honor and proud of how far we've come. But there's another prize we're aiming for. And you can help us with that.

On Tuesday 7 February 2023 the festive award ceremony will take place at Bozar where another award will be handed out. Out of all categories, one concept will win the Public Gold Award aka the crowd's favorite.

Which means you can vote for Cocom and help us win another award (read below to vote)! But first, let's have a closer look at what founder and CEO Jafar Bedja had to say about winning the award (asked by the jury of Henry van de Velde). Click on the picture below to vote or find the link below.

Jury: What does this award mean to you guys?

Jafar Bedja: For everyone who contributed somewhat to the realization of this project - the believers, users, sites, partners as well as the Cocom team - this award is a huge reward. For this, we are very grateful. The recognition of a prestigious award like this is a great result for all the hard work invested in the project so far. In addition, the judges' approval also provides enormous motivation and confirmation that we are heading in the right direction.

Jury: How does it contribute to a better world?

Jafar Bedja: With Cocom, we want to optimise. Preferably in as many areas as possible, resulting in only winners. So we very much believe in the win-win ratio of our platform. Cocom's circular approach creates a regenerative, sustainable business model where both 'Hosts', 'Guests' and 'Cities' experience a benefit. Very concretely, this means that vacant or underused space from Hosts can be offered to Guests who need it. Cities as a whole can do more with the available space, reducing the need for additional construction.

Jury: Do you have any further plans for this project?

Jafar Bedja: We have been compared to Airbnb before, calling us the 'Airbnb of day spaces'. Since we have a digital application that is perfectly scalable and since residing, living and having the space to do so is a global challenge, we are positive about expanding abroad. At the moment, we see an organic demand from the Netherlands because the real estate market there is already a bit more advanced and such solutions are very welcome. So our start in Belgium is a good start, but the options are huge. It would make us very proud to conquer the world with Cocom as a Belgian market leader.
